Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) is one of the leading two & three wheeler manufacturers in India, well known for its R&D product development process engineering and low-cost manufacturing skills. The company is the largest exporter of two and three-wheelers in the country, and today Bajaj Auto posted its Q4FY22 and year ended financial results, the details are as below:

(I) Audited Consolidated Financial Results for Quarter Ended (YoY comparison):

The company has reported, a consolidated Total Income of ₹8,263.70 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2022 as against ₹8,879.30 crore in the corresponding quarter ended last year on Mar 31, 2021, decreased by 6.94%.

The company has posted a consolidated Net Profit of ₹1,526.16 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2022 as against ₹1,551.28 crore in the corresponding quarter ended in last year on Mar 31, 2021. The PAT surges down by 1.62%.

The status of the EPS of the company stood at ₹52.8 as on March 31, 2022 compared to the previous quarter ended on Mar 31, 2021 which was ₹53.6, down by 1.49%.

(II) Audited Consolidated Financial Result details for the Year Ended :

The company has reported, a consolidated Total Income of ₹34,428.85 crore in the financial year ended on March 31, 2022 as against ₹29,017.54 crore for the financial year ended on Mar 31, 2021, increased by 18.65%.

The company has posted a consolidated Net Profit of ₹6,165.87 crore in the financial year ended on March 31, 2022 as against ₹4,857.02 crore for the financial year ended on March 31, 2021. The PAT surges up by 26.95%.

The status of the EPS of the company stood at ₹213.20 as on March 31, 2022 compared to the previous year ended on March 31, 2021 which was ₹167.90, up by 26.98%.

(III) Key Highlights about the Performance :

  1. Sequentially, EBITDA margin improved from 15.6% in Q3 / FY22 to 17.5% in Q4 / FY22, largely for –
    a. Positive impact of price increase, deferral of material cost increase, improved US$ realization and favourable sales mix
    b. Accrual of incentive receivable from the State Government of Maharashtra under Package Scheme of Incentive 2007 amounting to ₹31 crore for the period April 2021 to March 2022
    2. Exceptional items include ₹315 crore accrued as incentive receivable from the State Government of Maharashtra under Package Scheme of Incentive 2007 for the period April 2015 to March 2021
  • The Board of Directors recommend a dividend of ₹140 per equity share (1400%) subject to approval of shareholders
  • As on 31 st March 2022, surplus cash and cash equivalents stood at f 19,090 crore as against ₹17,689 crore as on 31st March 2021, after a dividend payout of ₹4,051 crore
  • The Company continues to face severe supply chain challenges, especially in Q4 / FY22, impacting sales of motorcycles and commercial vehicles On a full year basis, share for motorcycles sold in the domestic market marginally improved to 18.2%
  • Domestic Commercial Vehicle business recorded a growth of 47% as against industry growth of 21 %. As a result share in domestic market stands at 62% ( improved by 10.9% over FY21 )
  • International business recorded its highest ever sales of over 2.5 million vehicles for FY22. With sales of over US$ 2 billion, exports now contribute over 52% of our Net sales.
