Tata Motors will reduce car and SUV prices from September 22, 2025, passing on GST benefits to buyers. Models like Nexon, Safari, and Harrier get price cuts up to ₹1.55 lakh.
Tata Motors has announced that it will fully pass on the benefits of the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) rejig to customers, with revised prices coming into effect from September 22, 2025. The move follows the central government’s tax relief measures on cars and SUVs, aimed at boosting consumer demand in the automotive sector.
Price Reduction Across Models
The price cuts will apply across Tata Motors’ popular passenger vehicles, with savings ranging from ₹65,000 to ₹1.55 lakh depending on the model.
Tiago – up to ₹75,000 reduction
Tigor – up to ₹80,000 reduction
Altroz – up to ₹1,10,000 reduction
Punch – up to ₹85,000 reduction
Nexon – up to ₹1,55,000 reduction
Curvv – up to ₹65,000 reduction
Harrier – up to ₹1,40,000 reduction
Safari – up to ₹1,45,000 reduction
Industry Impact
With these price cuts, Tata Motors aims to make its product line-up more attractive ahead of the festive season, when car sales traditionally see an uptick. Industry experts believe this GST relief will not only help automakers clear inventories faster but also boost consumer sentiment, especially in the mid-SUV and premium segments.
Company Statement
In its announcement, Tata Motors said:
“We are committed to ensuring that the benefits of the government’s GST reforms are directly passed on to our customers. This step will make owning a Tata vehicle more accessible while strengthening demand in the passenger vehicle segment.”
Outlook
The GST relief, combined with festive discounts and new launches, is expected to intensify competition in the Indian automotive market. Analysts anticipate that other carmakers will also follow suit to retain their market share.
